The Aalto Animal is TAF Studio's contribution to The Artist's Stool. It is constructed from the components of the iconic Stool 60, originally designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933 and still in production by Artek.
In connection with the exhibition Aino & Alvar Aalto, Artek and Vandalorum have launched The Artist's Stool, a project inviting contemporary artists and designers to create their own interpretation of Alvar Aalto's Stool 60 in birch.
The stools are displayed as part of the exhibition and will later be auctioned at Bukowskis. Proceeds are divided equally between the contributing artists and the museum, with its share going directly to Design School, where children and young people meet weekly to learn about design and work in workshop form alongside professional designers.
